How time flies..!

Lil’ One is 30th-week-old in my tummy, and just two weeks ago…he weighs only 1.2 kg but now he weighs a whooping 1.5kg! No wonder..I could felt my tummy ’stretching’ and find it more heavier…

I was so happy with his progress..that I forgotten about my own..silly me! In just 2 weeks, I put on almost 2kg….o.m.g I think the Masters fresh milk is really doing wonders…Hahaha…unbelievable..cos..during my 2nd trimester, on my monthly check-up I only gained 1 kg per month…but now…only a short span of 2 weeks I have already gained almost 2kg!

Honestly, I don’t really mind it at all..cos I felt I haven’t been eating enough for Lil’One although I have always believed in eating quality over quantity, which I still truly uphold. Hahah..so when I had my weight measured I was delighted that I have gained much, but the 2 nurses at the clinic thought I was crazy…and gave me a weird look! Never mind their weird stares…I went on happily to see Dr Ong, thinking that finally I have gained some weight (putting back what has always been lacking) but little did I realized that all is short-lived.

After he informed me that my GTT result is “ok” and gave me the all clear for gestational diabetes, I got a good ‘lecture’ from him haha…I have broken the records..cos never have I had any problem with my weight…and he don’t have to ask me to watch out for it..

But this time round he commented with a stern face…”you’ve gained almost 2kg..in just 2 weeks…” ..blah blah..blah…”you know…that given your build…you should not be gaining so much weight…and so is the foetus..” ..”for every 200gm the foetus puts on..u need extra energy to push..do u know that..”, ” the most your foetus should weigh at birth is between 2.5 to 3kg only! “…I was like ..”huh”..thinking to myself…”that’s all”???!!!…Wouldn’t that makes him a small baby..? Will he be fine? He reassured me and asking me to trust his judgment…and as long as the foetus is doing fine..I can always “pump” him after birth. Ok lor…and a wryly smile is all I could give him in return…and pray hard that Lil’ One is doing fine.

So…here he is at the 30th week, he looks a bit chubbier and apparently this time round he seems to be “blowing bubbles..” (well that’s according to Dr Ong) in my tummy…pattern 多多

2 Weeks Later..

2 Weeks Later..

As for me I have to watch what I will be eating…and less or no junk food hehehe…and we’ll see in another 2 weeks time..how is my progress.

Last Weekend – 8 Oct 2008

Our 7th Gynae Check-up

Well..how time flies…I am into the first week of my third trimester already…soon we will be able to meet Lil’ One. We are so curious to find out how he looks like…more like mummy? or pappy? hehee…and so tempted to do a 3D scan…still contemplating….

What the heck…Saturday still got to wake up so early..at 7 am, no choice man…got to go for my 7th gynae check-up. Ok, on this 7th visit is supposed to be a scheduled GTT and I am supposed to fast overnight from Friday..well not really an issue for me..cos..I don’t really eat after 10 pm. Anyway, the real torture is the 2 hrs wait after drinking the glucose-loaded drink….yucks! I find it dreadful…

So I was there at 8.30am, my weight n BP are measured and I am glad that I have not gained much weight (~1kg) since my last visit and my BP is normal, then followed by the drawing of blood (pre-prandial) and then I was asked to collect my urine specimen and then the glucose drink. Boy, was I glad to taste the glucose-loaded drink…cos..it wasn’t as bad as I have thought it to be…it was carbonated some more! So unlike those days when I was working in a clinic when we have to make those concentrated glucose drink (machiam like glucolin powder) for some patients. Hahahah…I am so behind time..

After finishing the drink, I continued with my consultation. Without any breakfast..man..I was feeling a bit famished already…and I can feel that my stomach acid is brewing inside my tummy. While Dr Ong is doing a scan for Lil’ One, and with my tummy exposed I could feel Lil’ One busy kicking n punching inside me too…haha…and incidentally he was caught in the act…by Dr Ong or technically speaking..the ultrasound machine! See he is clenching his fist and opening his mouth…ready for some punching..

Fist ready…and all set to punch mummy….”AoooOooo…”

I am glad to know that Lil’ One is growing steadily and at 28th week he is ~1.2 kg. Keep it up Lil’ One!

After the consultation comes the 2 hr agonizing wait. Thank goodness that there was some reading materials and two cutie babies to keep me company. When the 2hrs wait is over, Kelvin arrived and another round of blood drawing and urine specimen collection. Oh…before my leave Shirley managed to make a delivery booking for me…at the Mt Alvernia hospital…and I am keeping my fingers crossed that the one-bedded room will be available when I delivered Lil’ One, otherwise poor Kelvin will have no where to rest and we won’t have any privacy.

After a nice lunch at Paragon, we headed back home for a short rest before we set out to Mt Alvernia hospital for our 2nd session of the antenatal class.

Antenatal Class – 2nd Session

I have been looking forward to this session and the next, cos its all about physiotherapy for the preggy mummies. What has it got to do with daddies then…? Hahaha….at the end of the session I am so happy n glad that Kelvin attended too…why? Cos besides the exercises we learned to tone our muscles and to relieve aches, the daddies have to learn the different massage techniques to help preggy mummies to relax…! It is so comfortable and I almost dozed off…hehe..I am glad that Kelvin is there to learn what his preggy wife is going through.. and what/how he can help to alleviate my problems…(he better be..man, I was worried lor cos he was yawning in the class..too cosy liao..) Hehehe…so just in case he forgets and to make him remember the various massage techniques…he needs lots of practice..and so I got excuses to let him practice on a daily basis….practice makes perfect mah.

While in the class, we are so boh liao that we managed to take photos while the physiotherapist is busy teaching the individual preggy mummies.

Mummy n pappy not attentive in class...taking photos..away!

Back at Sembawang

After dinner, we headed back to Sembawang. Suddenly, I have the urge to do a stock check at Lil’ One’s clothing and at the same time, to send them for washing. As I was unpacking them from plastic bags and laying them on the bed…I realized that..there are alot…

Geezzzz…looks like mostly shades of blue..n white n only a bit of yellow..

Some are bought from Mothercare and the Internet, while some are from Jia-Jia (maternal grandma in Hakka), which she has bought from wholesaler (she and her lobangs…) ..and some are from friends…is that too many????…. erhmm…I am not sure either…but it’s ok..I can always hand it to whoever needs it…rite?

Well, still got a lot of unfinished business and this weekend will be another burnt one…will update again.

Always have been skeptical about these kind of stuff, and of all the people, my gynae was the one who handed me a brochure of it during one of my earlier visits.

It is one of the many antenatal (well now they give a more holistic name to it…liao) programmes offered by our local hospitals. I hate all these….dunoe..why.

I chucked it aside for as long as I can remembered, until Kelvin asked me about it…just a month ago and urged me to give Mt Alvernia Hospital a call to enquire on their childbirth education programme.

On the hindsight, I was glad and happy that he remembered about this whole thing cos I told him before that it would be ‘good’ for him to know..why? Because..by going to the classes he can understand better about pregnancy…(heheh…yah rite..as if lor) ..the real rationale is for him to share my pain and difficulties mah..and be more considerate ehhehe…

Everything went on smoothly, from the enquiry to getting ourselves a place in the class and to the start of class. The class started on last Friday – 3rd Oct 2008.

3rd Oct is a memorable date..cos 10 years ago..we officially became a couple…hehehe…so embarrasing….to mention it here. Coincidentally, on this date in 2008 we are spending this special day with our Lil’ One at the first class of this programme, making it even more memorable.

The classes, consisting a total of 6, will be conducted at Mt Alvernia Hospital. But, last Friday class was abit disappointing in terms of its content, it was on pregnancy nutrition. I was expecting something more…*sigh*…but its gd for Kelvin to know…cos at the end of the session, he realized that his calcium consumption is too little….that’s why he got very soft nails…hah! Its more of a reassurance for me..as to whether I am eating properly.Well, the session lasted for 2 hours..with a few yawns here n there from the both of us..hehehe. I looked forward to the next three sessions where we (the pregnant women) will be learning n doing some stretching exercises…but hor I dunoe what the husbands 们 going to do leh?

Will update u guys on my next lesson..hehehe

Lil’ Eva

Heh heh…I know I know…this blog is supposed to be meant for updating the progress of my pregnancy and our Lil’ Prince..but sorry I can’t help but to write this update here..since most of u now visit this site. Anyway, our Lil’ Prince was involved too mah…hehehe..the only thing is that he is still in my tummy…

As promised..here’s an update on Lil’ Eva. She’s back!!!! I am so happy and looking forward to her return when I 1st heard she is coming back with her mummy. It’s been so long…about 2 years since we last saw her…

So we had a date with her at The Dragon Phoenix Restaurant, located at Admiral Hill Club (if I didn’t get it wrongly), to feast on dim sum.
Well, my brother is supposed to arrange the necessary, but I didn’t know..he was so ’smart’…(helloooo???!!!! It’s a public holiday leh)..that he didn’t make any reservation at all….unbelievable?! o.m.g! So the elderly, the pregnant woman (needless to say… that’s me) and the Lil’ ones..have to wait with our hungry tummies lor…..I purposely didn’t want to eat my breakfast cos thinking that we are going to eat at 11 am and also I didn’t want to overeat, so eventually I only had a glass of milk. I was so wrong…

Haha…so while waiting, our Lil’ Eva was in action…already…running around freely and playing with other kids…oh man she really has lots of energy! F.y.i, usually after a dose of sugar-loaded food/drink she will be on adrenaline rush! I wonder what did her mummy gave her before she met up with us…? After waiting for about 1/2 hour (my brother was lucky..otherwise..I am really going to order lots of food…since he is going to foot the bill!) it was finally our turn.

The following is what we had order :

I think the food is so-so only, the service and ambience is definitely not what I had expected. Hahha…but I would considered it affordable cos’ it cost us ~$160 for 7 pax. If you ask me, personally I will not visit the place again. Unless u want a dim sum quick-fix lah..and u so happened to be staying around the area.

Conclusion :
It is once again confirmed that my brother has an acquired or rather ‘unique’ taste for food, cos the food were not as gd as what he claimsto be..so disappointing and he is a poor planner.

Ok, back to our Lil’ Eva, she is so adorable and has grown so much and definitely full of facial expressions. At such an age (1+). She is also a smart and quick learner, you just need to teach her once she can do exactly the same action n sound effect as u. Not forgetting her flair for talking..hahah…n language skills. You need to tell her once and there she goes pronouncing it zhun x 2! Oh by the way, she only speaks French and a lilttle English and Mandarin, and most of the time dunoe what is she mumbling at. The following are shots taken at the restaurant and subsequently my mum’s place.

Back at my mum’s place, she was fast asleep…but woke up soon when she heard noises again…she’s back in action again! And again she was loaded with ’sugar food’, this time round her fav. fruit – seedless grapes! While eating her grapes, we made her try on the new dresses which I had bought for her from my usual Japanese site.

For a moment we thought we can steal some rest and catch up with my cousin, while Lil’ Eva sits there attentively watching cartoon. Hahhaa…we were so wrong man…soon enough she walked over to the fulll height windows and kept staring out while mumbling something ..and even asked Kelvin along with her. At first not knowing what she wants, cos she just sat there and kept staring at something…and she is those obedient type who doesn’t cry or demand for the things she wants, it was a while later then Kelvin realized that she is ‘eyeing’ the playground..hahaha

The moment she knew her message code has been deciphered, she ran to the door and hand-signalled to Kelvin and said : ” Common’…! Common’…!” asking him to bring her down to the playground and so off we went to the playground.

She had whale of a time there…running around, climbing up and down and enjoying her slides…all on her own..without our help. She will climb higher n higher with much enjoyment and challenge, and the best part..my cousin is not in the least bit worried about her at all…and she told us that Lil’ Eva has been ‘trained’ at the infant/childcare centre to be independent. I like that…

After completing her rounds at the playground, she went over to the fitness station…o.m.g trying out on the what-seems-to-her-a-slide…(actually its the platform for adults to do sit-ups lah)..and the inclination of the platform was really steep…wah biangz…and she happily “slide” down the thing…I wonder if she felt the pain in her bums? Just when we wanted to call it a day, she spotted the pull-up bars…hahaha…so she proceeded to that station lor….of course with her mummy’s help. :o ) This is what happens when we let her have too many sugar-loaded stuff. She never fails too express her energy after her “energy food”.

Back at my mum’s place…(yesh finally…!) She gulped down some water…and then…started running round n round again…and playing “peek-a-boo” with us. Oh…the most infuriating part…comes when she went to my mum’s bed and started jumping on it…then she asked Kelvin to sit beside her…but she didn’t ask me.. :o ( So I purposely go and sit on the bed too….guess what? she came over and pushed me off the bed…! Not believing what she has done..I asked my sis to test her again….true enough she gave my sis the same treatment..hahaha…

Conclusion :
As what my cousin has forewarned us…she only likes to play with boys/young men…yesh…not even old ones…k!

Even when she was about to leave my mum’s place, she even asked Kelvin to wear her shoes for her..and expects Kelvin to go home with her…hahah…It was until her mummy told her that Kelvin wants to “do-do” liao..(I dunoe the exact spelling in French..I think it is supposed to be pronounced asdormir’, and it is supposed to mean ’sleep’ in French..I think..and u know lah…baby talk in short would means “do-do”), then only she let the matter rest but with a pout lips…so cute…

In this particular video, the moment she hears ‘Twinkle twinkle little star (Tamil version)’ she will starts to shake her head violently and dance to the rhythm of it.

In this video, she was feeling cheeky..and gave us that look..and began her funny facial expressions Part II!

Eva and her pte ltd French..she has yet to speak full sentences clearly…(only mumbles)…but understands it when her ‘mamoo’ or papa speaks to her in French.

This is my eyes, nose n mouth…
